Free AntiVirus and Firewall Experience in 2017
Following are just personal experiences with Windows 10 latest build, happened in year March 2017
Probably the antivirus software have been updated if later.
Installation on laptop:
- Acer S3 with i7 second generation mobile processor.
- RAM 4Gb.
Windows 10 freeze frequently after installing the following Free Antivirus, these are separated installation, have formatted Windows 10 for each installation but still failed :
- Free AVG (failed to disable Windows 10 default antivirus, Windows Defender which cause conflict between the two. have noticed the resources was catch between the two, causing Windows 10 freezes. Avg failed to load UI and etc.)
- Free Comodo Internet Suite not sure why keep hangs. CIS managed to stop Windows Defender, but not the default windows 10 firewall. Actually have manually disabled Windows 10 firewall but still failed.
In the end, using Zonealarm free firewall and antivirus. everything is going smooth by then.

Windows 10 still hang when running only Zonealarm antivirus and firewall.

Windows10 hang was due to improper hardware usage. Even though the processor has 2.7 Ghz when using Intel Turbo Boost Technology but the BIOS was not seem to be able to fully utilized this. The processor was running at only 700Mbz(view via task manager and CPU-Z), not even close to its processing power. This was the actual problem causing Windows 10 to hang frequently. After update the BIOS, the processor now is able to run at full speed. fully utilized the processor. Running at 2Ghz ++. Probably the turbo boost is taking effect and also both the cores are running. notice no core was parked. probably core parking has been removed from windows 10 (not sure about that) or core parking only for quad cores ++ or Xeon. reinstalling Windows 10.
AVG free and Zonealarm free firewall now able to work together finely.
